Orthopedic Surgeon Responsibilities and Expectations

NexGen Surgical is actively seeking orthopedic surgeons specializing in joint replacement surgery and surgery of the shoulder, knee, hip, foot and ankle, hand, wrist and spine. Ideal candidates will have the credentials and skills required, along with experience and a proven ability to productively engage with colleagues and patients. Typical responsibilities will include:

• Interviewing and diagnosing patients
• Performing surgical procedures to realign bone fractures, repair ligaments, replace joints/bones, etc.
• Prescribing medications, physical therapy and supplements as needed to support the healing process
• Providing consultation and assistance to medical doctors and general practitioners
• Delegating tasks and coordinating the activities of nurses and other medical staff

Orthopedic Surgeon Skills and Qualification Requirements

NexGen Surgical requires our MDs and DOs to have completed a successful residency in your specialty of choice. We also require board certification and state licensure in the state where your position will be held. NexGen Surgical physicians must remain in compliance with all laws and hospital policies and must be available to work two weeks per month. Importantly, NexGen surgeons are high performing and hardworking. Surgeons interested in advancement opportunities may be interested in regional medical officer roles within NexGen Surgical. These physician leaders are often able to maintain a surgical practice while also managing regional clinical initiatives.
